in those vintage years when feathers wrote we stole kisses under trees behind a parasol or imported fans I drew chalk sketches of you in dappled sunlight we read Whitman in his novelty we ate apples unpared free... we were free still, chained in one way bound by society propriety ... merely words. we knew then what we cannot seem to know now someday when pens etch themselves onto paper poets think toward we can pause and remember when we struggled then laugh about the work have more tea, sighing, and hold each other tightly |

Portia, this is so expressive of another time. The time I always feel the most connection to. Great poem, and perfect vision. "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |

~Portia,...I could hear you speak these words. I truly admire the way that you write. It's different and seems like it should be read aloud. I have told you this before,..but each poem of your's just reads so well...they just flow smoothly and have a certain ring to them. Be well Portia. *Peace. |

Brought forth visions of times past...when things were slower and life could be savored. Very nice, Portia. Hardrock |

Portia, It has reached the point where I have run out of phrases of awe to utter on having read your poems. I can just picture this from the beginning to the end. You have such a multifaceted talent, and such a diverse range of subjects. Truly impressive! Always! Lotharingia "Dreams are life, reality, creation" Miguel de Unanumo |
