Face Forward and Smile ~~~~~ she shines on days of new digests yesterday’s pain and breathes deeply ~~~ time and again clouds of storm flood life’s floor ~~~ without shine and bruised rainbows too heavy to continue ~~~ until light blinding over new day smiles from broken one ~~~ she shines on days of new she digests yesterday’s pain and breathes deeply. ~~~~~ Face Forward and Smile. |

A Beer A smile, big smile Let's keep it for a while Look forward, straightforward It's me your friend the LORD We'll sing and dance Spark up a little romance A beer, two beers My shoulder absorbs your tears Three beers, a fourth Bring the keg of course We'll talk we'll laugh We'll start to drink the draft Now were drunk "llett'ss cuuddllee" "SspiitFiire heelpp mmee II'mmm sseeinngg ddoouubbllee" You're holding me up "Bbutt II'mm ssupposse tooo bbee hhooldding….Hic-up!" We leave the bar You don't live too far "Heerre's aa twweentty ttaakkee tthaatt ttaxii ccarr" "Taalkke tto yya llatterr bbutt nnot too faarr" We are both home safely from the bar ___________________________________ Top it up! Thats the best we can do, file away the pain and start fresh. Great poem, as always. Sounds like things are a bit better today. Hope so. Cat... |

I like the repetition on this one: very effective. And keep up that smile, it's the same one we all need in those bad patches! GrrreAt poem as usual! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

Forward is the only way to go, and if you do it with a smile all the better. God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

"Face forward and smile". Now, hold that pose...steady, steady. There!! Got it. Now no one will ever see the pain behind the picture. Great stuff here, SF. Hardrock |

SF, my friend, I love this one!!!!!!! She will do what needs to be done and she will be mighty!!! Great writing. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
