Written a few years ago, about a past event that left a big mark.. Soul Mate Interruptus He was looking for love. So was I, forever it seemed. I was stunned when I first met him. The man I had dreamt of in the flesh. We were casual at first. Had coffee, went to the beach. It was night, the moon was full. We drew symbols in the sand. I knew he was like me. We went to his loft, still casual. He showed me his etchings (no lie) and his crystal garden. I was falling fast. We drank wine, trying to be casual He looked at me then And simply said "will you stay"? And I said "yes". (was there any doubt?) No longer casual, he pulled me into his arms where I stayed all night. We made love in front of the picture window, and what a picture it was. I knew then as the sun came up, he was my destiny. He wanted to be together forever. (I'm sure I heard that) For two weeks we loved with a passion I had never known. An intensity that scalded my soul And then he was gone.... |

I like the almost abrupt ending, shows how quickly things disappear.... |

Wow. What a story. Sad but also romantic in a way. What do you mean by he was gone? Really or just for you, i.e. did he disappear or was it just the end of the relationship? Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

~You swept me up to the sky with this, and then dropped me from 50,000 feet up. Ugh!!! He was gone??? Wow,...took me for quite a ride. Good one. *Peace. [This message has been edited by SpitFire (edited 07-05-2000).] |

Good one!! Particularly liked "scalding my soul". Keep coming on. Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility. [i]William Wordsworth[ |

What an aestetic experience! Painful and beautiful at the same time..... |
