Like the tides that roll out It seems my strength has all but left Where has it gone? The sea rushes in like a flood Displaying it's mighty power Then slowly disappears Where did it go? It left behind life that slowly perished Clinging to every last drop of her life Now dried up by all it nourished, Parched by the sudden drought While she went out to replenish herself For newness of life I stood amazed at it's mysterious cycle So........... I tried to live the same way But..... they would not stop taking They would not let the tide receed I told them to stop.... Yes, I sent out many plea's Now I am empty And nothing can bring me back Yes, I am useless Can't they see? No....... They keep looking for the old me She has been washed out forever To the cold and deep sea Never to be seen |

Mmmm. I loved your word choice and the analogy to the sea. Joy |

I too love the analagy but also we have 'glimpsed' a little or the real you, and we have not run in horror have we? Beautiful work, find yourself, love yourself and never be ashamed of yourself if you are true!! I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn..... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

Simply beautiful! One can see the essence of "you" vanishing into the spray of the breaking waves. But in fact "you" live on! Or this lovely thought would never have found expression! Deepak Menon |
