Remember folks....you heard it here first. Country music radio stand by. Cold Pizza and Heartache Cold pizza and heartache, That’s all that’s left of you. I can’t drive past a Dominoe’s, Cause it only makes me blue. I used to be so happy, When our love was true. Now, cold pizza and heartache, Is all that’s left of you. I sit here, alone each night, And stare at my litttered floor. It’s filled with pizza boxes, Left over from the night before. I loved you and pepperoni, And I thought you loved me too, Now, cold pizza and heartache, Is all that’s left of you. So I’m eating cold pizza and heartache, I’ve gained a hundred pounds. I don’t have call in orders any more, They just bring’em when making their rounds. It’s the only thing I have left to love, Six toppings and a cheesy goo, Now, cold pizza and heartache, Is all that’s left of you. Marv Hardin 07/03/00 |

Being from West Virginia, I can really appreciate the "twang" in those lyrics. Thanks for making me giggle! ~Sash~ |

Jeremiah....I don't like country music either...especially this kind. But my mind has a mind of it's own sometimes....and this is what pops out. I'm sure you can understand that. Thanks....Hardrock |

And my dog ran away, and my truck broke down... Very cute, but serious stuff underneath. Haven't we all sat alone eating cold pizza and missing someone? "If a man moves you to feel like a woman, the least you can do is let him." Merrit Malloy |

Sad but tongue in cheek, Marvin. Brilliant as usual. Funny how a bit of humour can highlight sorrow. PS this sounds like a song! Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I saw a T-shirt this weekend that said, "The fastest way to a womans heart is through her ribs." With pizza. haha ok I'm having fun to. Because I had pizza last night and the night before and the night before, etc, etc. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

What to do with minds that have minds of their own, huh? I enjoyed this as a poem, but if I ever heard it as a country song I'd have to turn it off. Lol! Joy |

You have a talent for humor! But all humor is serious underneath. We've all been there,I know I have! Very good work! I enjoyed reading it! |

I don't feel so bad about the one I wrote now. Of course I don't have the courage to post it here...lol Actually that would probably get air time, if it has a catchy tune. Just add a good hook for the refrain. Jamie Tu ne cede malis, sed contra audentior ito. - Virgil. "Yield thou not to adversity, but press on the more bravely". |
