I saw you then I knew I would your playful smile is weaker now your sapphire eyes are greyer now you're still down where you never should have gone and yet you'll be forever in my dreams because you've always had that hold on me that only first love could < !signature--> Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. This was a quite nice poem. Is it based on any past experience? |

No one ever quite forgets their first love...even when time and fortunes change. This short poem spanned a lifetime...and did it so well. Thanks, Uta......Hardrock |

God My first love what a woman. haha I was eight years old, she was nine. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

Thank you, thank you! , glad you all liked it! Fractal007, "a quite nice poem" what superlatives . Seriously now, this one is based on experience. I was in love with one and the same boy from the age of 12 until about 20, when I didn't see him anymore. He didn't make anything out of his life I'm afraid; he took the alcohol, drugs and no work option. I saw him again on a recent trip to my home town, as I had expected I would (he had moved away, but somehow I knew he was back there). He looked a wreck, still a real punk at 30 (in the subculture sense), drunk at 4 in the afternoon. And yet still handsome somehow. Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |
