Oh Mother Of Mine Oh mother, mother, can't you hear, this little one who needs you near, this child of yours who loves you so, yet a mother's love doesn't know. Oh momma dear, I dreamed a dream, where I thought with love we'd touch and hold, but your words, your words, they were so cold. Oh woman who gave birth to me, can't you see where you've driven me, don't you have any sympathy, for the pain you caused, and the misery. Hey you, who used to be my friend, who hides behind my mother's face; yeah you, whose icy words chill even my warmest place can't you even look at my face? Oh Momma… Mother… Woman who gave life to me, whom I thought would love me eternally, I saw the place that angels see where mothers and children meet destiny, a place I though you and I would be, but now I know isn't meant for me. Oh Mother, oh momma of mine. w. james beard, jr. (don't know if makes sense or not...inspired by a friend's maternal relationship) [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 07-02-2000).] |

James...of course it makes sense...good sense. It's tragic that your friend's relationship with his mother is not better. But maybe if she saw your poem....she would have a change of heart. Good writing. I liked it very much. Hardrock |

Great writing, you portrayed your friends feelings beautifully and sensitivly. I feel so sorry for him/her not to know a mothers love. It must be so disheartening at times. Great thought provoking stuff I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn..... ~Isis~ (Goddess - Sovereign of the Spirit) |

most of us had the fortune of being loved by a caring mother.. and for those who haven't, they yearn for that kind of love, nonetheless.. but the worst thing of all is feeling like an orphan even if you aren't.. nice poem, jwesley. |

It is hard enough to lose a mother, but it's even harder to have one that dosen't care. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
