Alone, I sit here still while the stars above--they shine biding their time exquisitely as I dream of things, once mine. Do the stars know of pain and yearning? of dreams left for dead? Do they know of never-ending silences? Oblivious, yet constantly vicinal-- they glide endlessly in the evening darkness, tainting the sky with patches of hope, and momentary spells of gladness. But, for me, forever they remain distant--aloof, invariably far. The best things in life aren't always free, The worst things are. |

The best things in life aren't always free, The worst things are. I believe you may be right about that. I don't think that the stars know of pain. I think they are free souls soaring in a celestial sky of bliss ( good line, might use that in a poem). anyway a wonderful poem. I've often thought about the stars myself...I have a poem in one of my journals about them....but anywayz....this was an excellent read. We know that are, planets, dead moons etc etc. BUT we can imagine they are long gone souls like in the 'Lion King' cartoon/kids movie and then if they are old souls they do indeed sympathesize with us! When hurting I like to look at the stars myself, sort of brings things back into perspective... Great work I'll tell you this...... This was a nice twist to a subject that a lot is written about. Poignant and thought-provoking. Oh and I enjoyed it too. |
