Christmas time my favourite time of year,
Months of hoping and planning,
All for my son, my sweet little boy,
I want for him a magic Christmas to enjoy.

I also focus on my friends,
Send messages of love their way,
Sending hope, understanding and encouragement,
So they too can have a magical Christmas Day.

Sending out cards, emails and poetry,
Gifts, letters and loving thoughts,
To me that is what Christmas is all about,
Making people feel loved as they ought.

But personally my time isn't so grand,
I love what I do it's true,
You many find this hard to understand,
At times I feel so empty no matter what I do.

I don't ask for much,
Just a joyous holiday season,
All I get is complaints and arguements,
Mostly unjustified and without reason.

It's like she is happy,
What can I do,
To bring her back to a saddened reality?
It's what I'm here to do.

I understand that partly,
Tiredness lends a hand to a hardened soul,
But why can't my Christmas be filled with laughter and love,
Why can't it be under control?

The times with my son are flying by,
I want to share, celebrate and remember every special moment,
Share in his Christmas fantasy,
Not feel used, unloved and spent.

I don't ask much really I don't,
I just wanna play happy families,
Want the best for us all,
A season of happiness you see.

So tonight I'll pray a little harder,
Ask the Lord to renew my strength,
Ask him to lighten my heart,
Allow me to overlook the uncouth.

My dreams are not childish,
Or unrealistic as I'm told,
They are not selfish either,
Christmas is for the young and old.

I'll find that strength again,
And move on and forward with dreams,
And my son and I will have that Merry Christmas,
Even though things aren't always as they seem.....

No matter what is happening in our lives, we all must make a conscience effort to make the most of what we have, and see the happiness, feel the love we do have. On Christmas day, and every day....

So true when we find ourselves sad or lonely...life is not going as well as we desire...we must learn to accentuate the positive...count every blessing no matter how large or small...always lots of things to be thankful for...I am thankful that I will be spending a week in Calif. with my mom, brothers and sisters, sons and friends.
