the pain i'm feeling now is nothing i don't want i cause this with nothing but a needle and a flame burning the memories away tearing the feelings from me trying to find if i am still alive wanting to know i can still feel needing to understand the emptiness i find a place that looks nice burning the darkness of my soul into the beauty of my body the pain the need to feel more for a moment i forget everything but the pain i'm feeling now but it will stop in time a scar will mar my skin a reminder of the breif moment when i forgot you. Isaiah 1:18 "Everyone loves a rose, will you be thankful for the thorns?" |

Beautiful poem Allstaria....I loved the raw emotion in this...few people (from what I've seen) actually touch this subject...they come close but not quite this exactly...it was nice to see something different. BTW - I also liked your signature...the thorns happen to be one reason why I love roses so much...it's incomplete without them. D.E. This is a really original poem. The way you express how somebody uses physical pain to burn away psychological pain is very interesting ideed. It is often diificult to imagine why somebody inflicts pain upon themself, but when expressed this way it seems even logical. Lotharingia "For God's sake, he's a poet. Poets are meant to feel miserable. Otherwise, what the hell are they here for? What are they going to write about?" Tom Holland |

I can undersatnd why someone would inflict pain upon themselves, it acts as a focus. You can't hurt the people who hurt you. a powerful poem, some wonderful lines. i find a place that looks nice burning the darkness of my soul into the beauty of my body the pain the need to feel more for a moment ------------------------ "Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time". Baltimore Grotto "To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." E.E Cummings. manic street preachers "Culture Alienation Borebom and Despair" "I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing" -faster MSP "And you see, I kind of shiver to conformity Did you see, the way I cower to authority, you see And my life, it's a series of compromises anyway It's a sham, and I'm conditioned to accept it all, you see" six by Paul Draper. ----- |

I feel it... When we lose that love, if we don't feel the pain, we are left with nothing. If we feel nothing, it is like we are dead. Very positive ending... At least we can grow from our experiences! |

I've received many scars in life, some self inflicted, most be accidents, and some not stabbing etc., But the internal scars I have found the worst, your rendition of physical pain and maiming yourself is almost beyond words, yes this subject is skirted around like a few others here take care kid. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |

Well I can say that this is not what I expected to read when I followed your link, scary but understandable and beautiful all at the same time. My brother was masacistic for a time and I couldn't understand it or him, when I read these words it makes me understand him and wish I could have read this two years ago so I could have helped him. Thanks MF 'In my eyes I see a blur of things that others see so clearly' |
