DEFINING WAY: As a blood-red rose My love bloomed Now it's gone, who knows Now it's doomed As a bright, shining star My passion burned Now it's removed so far From backs turned As an ornate precious stone My enthusiasm glowed Now it's returned, alone Slowly it slowed They say: ignore what others say But it always changes, hurts In some defining way. (This is a short poem about the destructive and often permanent effect others' words and deeds have on us.) Sylvia. |

Sylvia....you said it so eloquently. As my ex love said to me, "I should have never listend to my friends. I should have followed my heart". Even well meaning friends step on our hearts sometime. Hardrock |

I was taught that thou shal not kill, even with words. great poem kid. Joel. I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel. |
