I stared outside my window,
From safe within my shroud.
A warm wind is blowing,
Making dead leaves dance,
Beneath the stormy clouds.
A rolling thunder echoes,
Sending tremors up and down my spine.
Branches rattle ghostly,
And the wind begins to whine.
A flash of lightning bursting
Into the open night,
Silhouettes are now dancing,
A vision to incite,
A face reflected, for a moment,
Upon my window pane.
Your eyes stare back inviting,
From beyond the coming rain.
A whisper calls me softly,
Although there is no sound,
As a warm wind blows,
Making dead leaves dance,
Beneath the stormy clouds

Hi Ron, this is so lyrical and with very strong images. Lovely.
Thanks, also, for your note on my poem.

Very nice description here.  I like the use of nature in poetry.  Looking forward to reading more of your writings..Dee

This reminds me of the scene in Wuthering Heights when I-forget-his-name 'dreams' that Cathy is calling for Heathcliff outside the window...

good write!
