She walks along the beach..... Making footprints in the sand..... Her shoes are clasped within the grasp of cold and shaking hands... The water's stormy tides are smashing hard, upon the shore... This is where she's come to think... So many times before... Through all her life, she's loved the smells, and sounds of this great sea... As a toddler making castles... or a young girl running free... The first time that she gave herself, was on the golden sand... And later, it was here....a young man asked her for her hand... With babies of her own... She brought them here to run and play... And held them as they watched the tide, sweep castles all away... The happiness of growing years flew by her, one by one... Then came the year she lost it all... Her marriage was all done... But life goes on, and sings a song, for everyone alive... She learned to stand up tall, and play the game to just survive... She also learned to guard her heart, and hide it's fragile key... The only time she felt at peace... was here......beside the sea... So many years have come and gone... Her time is growing old... She gave her heart just one last time... He also took her soul... So now she looks upon her sea... with memories of her past... And walks into it's welcoming depths... to find her peace......at last [This message has been edited by Sunny1 (edited 09-16-2000).] |

Wow...it's great! What a story, I really enjoyed reading even though I hate unhappy endings. Well in a way it's good that she can find peace in the sea that's her favourite place. Anyway, great writing as usual Take Care! "Most girls want a man with the mean green Don't wanna dance if he can't be Everything that I dream up A man that understands real love" |

you write so beautifully, i really enjoyed this... "The Great Below" ----------------- "staring at the sea will she come? is there hope for me after all is said and done anything at any price all of this for you all the spoils of wasted life all of this for you all the world has closed her eyes tired faith all worn and thin for all we could have done and all that could have been ocean pulls me close and whispers in my ear the destiny i've chose all becoming clear the currents have their say the time is drawing near washes me away makes me disappear I descend from grace in arms of undertow i will make my place in the great below i can still feel you even so far away" this was a little tough for me to totally understand at first but i thought i'd quote this poem and this one just because they are also beautiful.. "La Mer" -------- "And when the day arrives I'll become the sky and i'll become the sea And the sea will come to kiss me for i am going home Nothing can stop me now" "'I am the the lizard king I can do anything I can make the earth stop in its tracks I made the blue cars go away |

anomaly187... What beautiful verses that you set here......I love anything that has to do with the sea. My grandmother used to say that I was really a mermaid, and I sometimes think that's true!!! Thank you for the new verses to enjoy!! Bonnie... Oh, I am glad that you liked this! It describes my life in a nutshell, except for the ending, of course!! I think when the time comes, I shall just go to sleep!! Thank you!!!!! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |
