Darkness surrounds, all is lost up to this fragile sky I'm tossed wings beating, heart on fire how can this poor rook aspire to gain the heights where eagles soar return safely, home once more. Into the dark of night I go to be seen not wanting, against a foe I travel fast, I travel lone Oh how I want, to be safe home but travel on, I must, I will though echoing resonance calls me still my message goes with me and then I'm free to return, home again compete with those more fit than me in this bid to set souls free the messenger will travel on through the night, to day's new dawn weary battered, torn by care can I complete the task, set there soar with eagles, find the strength run the race and go the length no strength left, the game is lost as into darkness, I am tossed. "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Kethry, you know I have special memories of the first two lines and am so glad that you have used them, a fantastic poem intense emotions and often we can feel the game is lost but victory is just ahead, don't give up my friend. Take care. weary battered, torn by care can I complete the task, set there soar with eagles, find the strength run the race and go the length no strength left, the game is lost as into darkness, I am tossed. This is the hour when the mysteries emerge A strangeness so hard to reflect A moment so moving goes straight to your heart" JOy divison |

Thanks Brian, This is based on the "always darkest before the dawn theory." When everything does seem hopeless. Thanks for your poem, using those words, which inspired mine. Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- |

Wow...I really liked it! the lines "I travel fast, I travel lone Oh how I want, to be safe home but travel on, I must, I will though echoing resonance calls me still" reminded me so much of my favourite poem I learnt in school: "The woods are lovely dark and deep But I have promisses to keep And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep..." Stopping by woods / Robert Frost. Godd job! Take Care! |
