MonoMan

MonoMan works late
to satisfy his screaming boss
his life a work of hate
the surface merely gloss

MonoMan leaves for work at dawn
his face a soulless mask
all emotions long since gone
but if someone interrupts his task

he changes to a vision of hate
no patience, time or tolerance
his boss may sack him if he's late
in this vicious money dance

So MonoMan works in his sterile room
creating cold empires of hate
he lovingly builds anothers tomb
and smiles at the saddest fate

His only joys, to beat his wife
and getting off on 'Army Journal'
he knows nothing of a better life
for him it's all monaural

So MonoMan is working late
to make his schemes come true
his life is sad and second rate
I pray he's not like you...

For A, J & B with much Love (:

Living wild they found a place of peace
By trickling stream and grassy field
Far from normal mind they found release
Lives filled by magic more magic yield

Music brightens their night, sunshine their days
With time for gems of life to shine & amaze
Without work or routine each moment is clear
No irritated boss, no back stabbing colleagues
No shallow hunt for money, no need to fear

Exploring mysteries of life in freedoms high
Glad to live under tree and sky
Smoking the herb in wonderful calmness
in sweet recognition of sensual awareness
Weaving their lives like a gypsy dream
Not once thinking of how they might seem

Rejoicing in Earth colours and sky they live
And what they have they freely give
Far from all Mans rules and regulations
light years from his grey limitations

Free to breathe clear a whole life long
To cry & laugh & grow children strong
In each crystal moment with being and sharing
gentle shining spirits of colour, caring

With each step a dance in this moment of now
Giving, being, sharing and living to be.
They love the life and leave it...

Yes, a monolife is not worth living to me, yet so many people get lost in it. OK, Serenity I will meet you in the mountains..lol
Great words to live by here.

These have been travelling around a bit - 'Open' to 'Adult' to 'Dark' - still I think we're in the right place now.... I didn't realise, I had a misunderstanding of 'Open'   ! Oh well, one learns (and I understand now..)

Thanks serenity, Jenn E, PanDol & Maureen (& many many thanks for the photo - looks much better!)

This was a struggle and it's way over genneralised but you know what I was getting at (besides I was in an awful mood!)

Never mind it IS AS it is...

Oh, and thanks to Michael!

Very cool, Alan, that mono life, its so hard to fight off sometimes. And the second half was just beautiful.

Thanks cat! Yes, I just let my idealism (& unrealism) flow... so who says we need to be realistic all the time!

Hey you really ARE in a colourful mood theses days Uta.

I thought you'd written antichrist for a moment. (I was called that once too - by an ex-employer!)

Yes, the photo is much better, thanks to Maureen (MMoonchild) she fixed it up for me.

Allen,
I liked the poem, the first part was so angry the second so mellow, both in lilt and colour. Hope to read more of your work soon.
Be well

What a laugh! Are you sure your ex-employer wasn’t confusing you with himself?

No... He looked a little like a cross between the owl above and the popular notion of Moses.

But he was a cuddly little bugger despite all that! (He'd been preaching for about 60 years.)

I usually got an hourly sermon each morning! (Oh well, it beat working!)

~Allan,...The first part is hauntingly real and the second,...well, let's just say that I've packed my bags. WoW. What an observation! I truly enjoy your work. Take care A. *Peace.
