It is when the burning light of day settles from my eyes, that I am fully alive. I sleep through my life, drifting endlessly on silver threads of dreams... Waiting, watching for the blessed darkness to rise... For then, I am with your shadow. In my dreams, I rest within the tender circle of your arms, In the darkness your shadow and I, dance along webs of moonlight, as the stars tickle our toes... It is in blessed darkness that I am beautiful once more, I am kissed by Mother Earth, dressed in obsidian Velvet by Father Night. It is your shadow that brings you to my arms. Alone in this world of whispered promises, where harsh reality is draped in a thick inky veil... It protects my eyes from that burning sun, where once it rises... melts your shadow.. and my dreams, as I stand alone once more. ~Denise~ |

this poem is really beautiful... reminds me of similar themes on which i have written poetry. it has a very dreamy feel to it...as if you are floating...through it. sincerely, kat |
