Rememberance How will you remember when I"m gone? Will it be with fondness, Or will your lives just go on? Will the hearts of those I've loved the most, The stars of my buddy list Think of me like a forgotten ghost, Not even to be missed? Have I left an impression,or at least a smile On all those I call friends? Or will those chats across the miles Be forgotten in the end? Will all the nights of love and joy I gave without condition, Be tossed aside like a broken toy Or did you even listen? I hope I've helped in some small way With my mail, empathy and im's To shine some light upon the day Of the people I like to call friends. So smile when you're at the keys Whether chatting or in the loft, And think of what became of me When I finally signed off. This is so very sweet. I'm sure your friends are always thinking of you! Lotharingia "Dreams are life, reality, creation" Miguel de Unanumo |

There is a certain noncommittal (yes, that’s a real word) air when dealing with online friends/lovers/whatever. How much would you pay for a car that you never saw? Words can be as deceptive as the mouth that sputters them, if you want the truth, you’d better ask for the version you want to hear. Faces have become a sort of shrine to the personality of a given individual. I hate to relate the doctrine of friendship to the dirty material world, but the way we’re headed…its just plain depressing. But if they are real friends, you’ll be with them no matter the current situation, forever and always. That’s the idea behind true friendship… ---------------------- Spreading insanity, one post at a time |

Yes, I often wonder the same thing. I have seen friends come and go, online, but the true ones stay. And sometimes we have to give more than we get, too, just because that is the way we are. If you need to communicate more than someone else, you will do more, put forth more effort. And quite possibly get back less. But I think the point is there in the reaching out. And you never know who you have touched enough to save from some lonely existence. I agree with Deranger, lots of people are very noncommital in their friendship. But here and there is the true gem, someone you are meant to be close with for a long time, and that is well worth the trouble. And those people will not forget you, will even look for you if you go away for any length of time. Take care Cat... |
