I Am But A Penguin your coffee flavored liquid existence on cubes of the cities heights I am but a penguin here trampling your time of jellybean trails your lollipop trees have been slashed with the licorice lights and wave their sugar coated drama down rivers of my sticky sweet waters, down paths of the most evil faceted world. Gone with the staleness of the high, the high of all you were, gone with the cane of me diluted now and missing it all your teeth are rotting away an addiction too harsh a craving, aching feel inside acid swimming organs of you, inside the depths of the hairless face, the sugar boy wonder, aaah, the last bit of you for sale. |

~Yeah,...now that I read that again, it sounds like some kind of substance problem,...when actually, it started a minute ago with a blanked out stare at my iced coffee and then took a turn of it's own....resulting in mixed topics,...including a guy. Anyway,...wrote it in a minute and just felt like explaining to you all that it's not a substance problem. Although I believe that poetry doesn't really need explaination,...I felt the urge to share this bit of info. with you. *Peace. |

The image of substance abuse of sorts was not painted in my mind . . . The symbolical use of words is splendid! I simply loved it* ~Looking forward to more blank stare thoughts Chere* |

OK SpitFire..once again: The seeds go in one corner, the stems in the other, the leaves.....Just kidding you. I did have to stop and wonder where you were going with this one. But knowing your mind, I was happy just to be along for the ride. I really did like this. Hardrock |

I liked this too! Had no image of substance abuse, but great imagery of colors, tastes...Another good one!! The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose...--Hada Bejar |

Before I read the comments I though this was a good description of our society. John D |

I am but a Joker Exhaled like a smoker Stomped on by pointed heels Spinning like movie reels Projecting your image Get strong when I eat spinach Flying like superman Falling in hourglass sand Landing in your ocean Starting a little commotion Choking on your waves Digging up corpses graves Devouring pieces of your flesh Smelling your fragrance so fresh Taste your heartbeat I'm pumped by your dancing feet Poetry is your name I'm lost in your words insane Crazy because of you The doctor said it's true The doctor was a vet He said I've become your pet Being fed through the net A hunger I never regret |

Spitfire, Loved the rythym and metre of this one. Then I looked at it, and saw it was a vase to hold all those amazing images. Perhaps I should check out my substance use.lol. Great poem. Be well Kethry "It is the image in the mind that links us to lost treasures; but it is the loss that shapes the image, gathers the flowers weaves the garland."- Cole |
