When God's Hands Touched Us

If only for a while,
I would wish
to have you near me,
to hold and be held
as if there was no tomorrow.

Not in fear,
but in the tightest of holds,
secure
in the knowledge
that I am
and you are,
and that together
we shall be,
and share all.

a love that can defy anything
a trust that cannever be broken
a warmth that never needs to be heated
a coolness to survive even the hardest of times
a peace that sustains and allows a gathering of strength
to grow and to stand tall against all odds,
as we have in these years since we first met
when God's hands touched us,
with a love, so gentle
that it brings tears to my eyes
just remembering.

Remembering all the moments
and even now
I can't recall any
like those we are living through today...

Sometimes
I think that we have shared
and loved too much
and it was too easy...
and now for whatever the reasons
we are being tested.

I remember failure
as if it was just yesterday.
It use to devastate me when young
and usually it was due to misunderstanding
or not studying hard enough.

I am unprepared for this test,
one of wills and fortitude.
All we can do is take "a make-up"
over and over again,
hoping that you and I (we) can
correct our mistakes
and be "right" again.

This was a very good poem.  God certainly does have quite a bit of love to offer, in fact an infinite amount, probably.  Very good piece of writing!

MMoonchild...a test of wills and fortitude...so true.  Sometimes that is what it all comes down to.  Excellent, like all your work.  Hardrock

MMoonchild this is a beautiful lament and reminder that we have all been touched by God and sometime, and a reminder to remember and be grateful..
When this has finished here, perhaps you might get one of us moderator's to move it to the spiritual forum for you, I'm sure they'd like it over there too!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

Maureen,

Beautiful.  Love changes, Love grows, but Love never dies. God touches each of us in our own special way and it's usually through our loved ones.  What a lovely thought.
Take care and keep smiling softly.

This was beautifully written...such longing portrayed.  God touches us in so many ways, that even loss can be turned into something good by His touch.  Linda
