Hoping you see them too
I look for a certain one
To make a wish for you

I wish for your journey to end
To vanish into thin air
For you to start a new life
Knowing that I care

I wish for new beginnings
To forget the past so bold
For you to not feel the pain
Nor even the walls so cold

I wish for you to smile
To forget the frowns in sight
To feel happiness in your days
And love within your nights

I wish for you to fly
Like you have never flown before
To feel the freedom and youth
As you open up your door

I also wish for peace
For you to enjoy who you are
I wish all this for you
As I wish upon that star!

Once there was a darkness
Deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had
Ahhhhhh you gave me light

Ahhhh, I like this one fer sure. Yup.. When I wrote "your star" I was feeling exactly this way, except mine came out like it did.

DKW, I feel the kindness here, and the thoughtfulness as well. Another really good poem!!! I was working on a piece Mystery Star..but never did finish it. Love the "star" idea!!
