Long Walk Perhaps Today, I’ll walk The gray wood Boots, Thick socks, Coat, And hood. Pants that blend With dirty snow Heavy shirt Will I go? Gloves? I may, But pockets work. I’ll not care. Into gray Clouds, tree trunks, Sunless sky, Branches bare. Slowly walking. Towards? away? Till fading light End of day. Spring may come, For someone else. I could stop Feel the cold. My woods, They’re dark. Frozen, still. Quiet, old. Perhaps, Tonight, I’ll walk on. Past twilight. John D LeClare |

This is so inviting! It would be great to take a long, slow walk in the woods and though the mood here is somber, it somehow fits my mood today. I liked this! |

~Oh wow,...I really like this style of your writing. Enjoyable. Such a somber tale though,...such a well written one too. Left me feeling sort of quiet and low. Be well JDL. *Peace. *Welcome here!!! |

You got it going on. Just awesome usuage of such simple words which sends shivers down my spine yet a warm touch of glow I feel. Ronil (What I say I live by and what I live by is what I create). |

This poem is simply wonderful. And what I felt the third time through was that your thoughts merge the two . . .darkness & light that is* Chere* |
