TWO RIVERS – TWO LIVES ~ by Linda Munday ~ From somewhere far away along a cool and leafy coast, A turbid river surged its way from its mountain host. It wound its way with twists and turns along a rocky bed, To crash itself without a heed, and cut itself to shreds. It white dashed over snags and stones, In a tripping quest, without a home. It never looked the way it went, It just rushed forth as if hell bent. But then as if by unseen hand, It found itself in foreign land. A place where light and hope abound, And lushest valleys could be found. This place was strange and somehow glowed, Amongst this scene the other river flowed. It curled its way on a sandy bed, And flowed so gently as if led, To find a place where the two would meet, And join as one in a place so sweet. To flow together at last as one, To wind their way under blazing sun. Where they would blend eternally, And mix forever in the sea. |

Linda... It's a great poem, the rivers are just like our lives aren't they? meandering through the highs and lows of our lives.. great poem! - James The beauty of nature is displayed, not through itself, but through the creatures dwelling within its bosom. |

LindaM~ A delightful read. 'To flow together at last as one, To wind their way under blazing sun. Where they would blend eternally, And mix forever in the sea.' We often travel many a river to the blending in the sea of life. Here's to great rafting ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
