My life’s tapestry, woven carefully lies before me torn and tattered lost to me forever all the things that ever mattered. One strand pulled another, unraveling in my embrace. Screaming out in painful loss, I cradle it to my face. Unbound, my life is nothing; no past, no future course. I hold the shreds of yesterday crying out with remorse. Give back my life! I cry, to ears that will not hear. I cannot live without those threads, to show that I was here! |

PoetdeVine~ Wonderful 'tapestry' of thought. 'I cannot live without those threads, to show that I was here!' And we all are the threads woven ... ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Ditto everybody else's thoughts and say that the last stanza was most beautiful (if I were to pick one...) Give back my life! I cry, to ears that will not hear. I cannot live without those threads, to show that I was here! ... WOW regards, sudhir |

very deep and true words... I always say that our relationships are like strings that hold us together... with each string that breaks,it hurts and want it back the way it was... this poem somewhat reminded me of that and my life's tapestry... lovely...and a little sad how we lose those strings, but you never know when that detached string may attach itself... thankyou...for reminding me Avanti If all was light...then I would have never learnt the dark...from which such truth evolves from which evolves the light... Had to respond again. Had to read again. I hope you don't mind Sharon that I print this and share it with some friends. It is just too powerful to not share. Thanks again, Geoffrey *my vote* |

Sharon, I was very moved by your poem. It reminds me of a relative of mine who has been feeling as if her life has become"torn and tattered". It is a good description of the way many people feel from time to time as they struggle to hang on to the "threads of yesterday". Thank-you (VOTE) Debbie |
