Little Rose Petal

In the garden I see,
Single sweet rose,
Standing tall,
Bold and delicate,
Its beauty astounding all.
I’d hear mother’s call their children,
With affectionate smiles;
"Rose petal"
"Rose bud"
and "My darling rose."
Then I used to wish,
That I could be someone’s
Little rose petal, too.
But as I am standing,
In the lonely garden,
I know that I’ll just always be,
My own, "Little rose petal."

I am reading you for the first time
I liek your signature a lot!
very meaningful

from which evolves the light...

Thank you AVANTI.. yeah, this was written from the point of view of an orphan, watching the other orphans leave the orphanage to new, loving homes.. leaving him/her behind...

Yes.. Lao-Tsu was a wise man.. so, it seems, was the writter or your signature.. *_^

Lynne... Hmm, what should I say.. yes, you have described yourself well, hmm, but instead of just a petal, you should be described as the flower herself. anyway, i am not going to vote for this one, 'cause i think your 'Sacred Senerity' is much better (which I voted in.. heeh)..

This made me want to wrap my arms around "little rose petal". All alone, without a mothers affection!
I loved it and I hope it makes it in the book!

Thanx James.. hmm.. what do I say.. my poem described myself?! hehe, well, thank you James.. but I'm not sure I agree with u there.. *_^ the flower.. that reminds me of another poem i wrote, similar to this one.. I did keep it, though I prefered this verson... I wrote this first.. then altered it to mean something else.. I think u read this one James..

Not A Rose

In the garden I see,
Single sweet rose,
Standing tall, bold and delicate,
Its beauty astounding all.
Surrounding grasses,
Whisper and giggle,
But I see no other flowers;
Just a single rose.
My mother used to tell me,
I was like that rose,
And I used to wish,
That it were so.
But as I am standing,
In the lonely garden,
I know that I,
Would never trade places.
Not for all the world.

^_^

Tracie.. thank you 4 your reply.. *_^ yep, hehe.. 'little rose petal'... nah, I am not a rose petal..   thank u again..

Debbie.. aah, hehe.. yeah I am sure 'Little rose petal" would have been glad of a hug such as that.. ^^ thank you very much Debbie..

Luv..

Well, of course I know this one, much better than being a petal, isn't it? You are probably more significant than just a little rose petal.. hehe..

Hi Yu Lan, this is a very special little poem. It has much Love in it. It's nice to feel that you are or can be a rose petal to yourself. Very sweet. Thanks for visiting my offerings and your kind comments.
