It's Late

It's late you said
Goodnight
It's late I said
Stay a while
It's late you said
It's late

Goodnight you said
Sleep well
Goodnight I said
I want you
Goodnight you said
Sleep well

I'll go then you said
It's late
Too late I said
Too late
Goodbye you said
Goodbye

You're gone now I said
Too late
You're gone from me
Too Late
It hurts I said
Too late

I can remember times like this
'twas a whole life time ago but it's surprising how memories can be sparked through the reading of well written poetry

Such a sad poem, but so true in life.  Well written, well done.  Good job facing realities as they are.

Love hurts when it bends, you have expressed it so well through such a few words.. excellent piece

Thank you Prometheus, i tried so I'm glad you liked it.

Rex as always your praise is always welcome even if I don't deserve it, and I know I don't. Thanks for reading it.

Musicmaker thank you very much.

Dg Dee thanks, not a patch on yours but I'm getting there.

Tracie you are far too kind to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

James yes that's it, bent out of shape, but like a rubber ball it's coming together again.
