Tonight~
I wished upon a star
The brightest one I could see
Brilliant~
As if shouting out loud
“Please, come wish upon me!”

Hypnotic~
I’m left gazing
Staring into the night
Mesmerized~
By your wonder
Fascinated by your sight

Twinkling~
Happy and full of life
Celebrating how free you fly
Promising~
So bold and strong
Outshining the rest in the sky

Blazing~
Are you there
Do you really still burn?
Infinite~
I beg you to be
Please give me what I yearn

Peacefully~
Smiling at me from afar
Yet somehow you seem so near
Serene~
You quietly speak to me
Almost whispering in my ear

Silently~
Cradle me in your light
Please give to me what I wish
Gentle~
Illumination reaches out
On my cheek placing a kiss

Smiling~
I’m left dreaming
Of my wish I sent to you
Wondering~
How long I shall wait?
Forever, ‘till my wish comes true

Tonight~
I wished upon a star
The brightest one I could see
You~
My love, are that shinning star
And I wished for you to fall upon me

Must agree with the others, this is really nice.  The style makes it flow so well and it enhances the fascination of wishing upon a star. Of course, the imagery makes possible the wish to become reality.
~~nice writing~~  would be a nice addition to any poetry bood!

I loved this one when you first wrote it.  It moves in me the same way today.  Wonderful poem - no one should have to wait "forever", I'm sure you won't, either.
