Thanks, Marge.

Isla Mujeres

Come with me to Isla Mujeres
Where steady trade winds blow
And the ocean is crystalline
We can dance in love's show

Unlock the passion you know is here
Inside of me, waiting only for you
And meet me beyond the coral reef
Timeless love, both ancient and new

We'll sleep in the midday heat
Then under bright stars and dark sky
Make love with abandon and
I'll dive into your loving eyes

And feel the weightlessness there
Your spirit surrounds me even now
Like hues of a painting, many colors
Enlighten me from within, show me how

I want to lay in the sand with you
Cover you with tender kisses
Watch your passion grow in the morning
And grant you three thousand wishes

We'll ride horses on windy strands
Take me, on a sunset swim at low tide
The love we feel, given half a chance
Surely could not be denied

And when we return to reality
Tell me it will always be this way
For if you tell me otherwise
On the Isle of Women I shall stay

Corrine, this is BELLISSIMA!!!  Loved it   voting

Yes, I am here, but I am dead, not alive,
my body goes on, my spirit has died,
and I though alive, feel dead inside.

Thank you all for your very kind words.  It was a bit painful to pull this one up, remembering the person I wrote this for, but then I also recall going to this island when I was sixteen with my parents and discovering its true beauty.

Thank you Marge for suggesting that I post this.
