Out in the yard gazing up at the stars As daylight turned to dusk, Twilight descending silently, In the air the sweet scent of musk. Suddenly from out of the shadows, A light of the palest pink, Surrounding the dew kissed roses, Perhaps an angel, I think. With unbelieving eyes I stared, This must be one of those dreams, Why would and angel come to me, It just couldn't be what it seems. As I arose to walk to the garden, She slowly lowered her head, A halo of gold beckoned me, As her gossamer feathers were spread. In an instant I was wholly embraced By down of the purest white, A whisper of gentle assurance, Completely dislodged the fright. She told me of God's love for me, How He knew of the weakness I felt, And with her delicate, soothing voice, She prayed with me as I knelt. When I raised my head to our Father, To thank Him for sending her here, Her feathery wing on my shoulder, Removed the lingering fear. As I looked again she was standing, Radiant wings preparing to fly, I knew my faith had been restored, As she soared through the star filled sky. My eyes quickly scanning the heavens, As I watched this exquisite sight, Our Lord had given me peace again, Showing His delicate Angel in flight. I usually stear clear of poems involving angels, because I believe god gives us plenty of good without resorting to that fantasy. Still ... there was something eloquent, childlike, simple, innocent in the wording. I can't get the images out of my head (for better or worse ). And what is poetry but images you can't get out of your head? This deserves a place in the book. Mike |

I love Angels and I love this one. It was so beautiful and full of imagery. ~Susie "If we could read the secret history of our enemies, we should find in each man's life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility." ~Henry W |

Bonnie another magnificant piece painted! I found one thing though...hope you don't mind I point it out. If it's a typo I'd rather let you know now, instead of after it goes into print. (it will ya know!) This line...This must one of those dreams, Should it be ... this must (be) one of those dreams? I do believe in angels, no doubt. They are just messangers of God, nothing fake about them. You've described the brightness of being in the presence of God! You've done a remarkable job with your pen and splashing the imagery into a beautiful story! |

Very nice.... it's good the way miracles (big like angels or tiny like the flash of a bird's wing) remind us there's a lot more to life than we take for granted |

Thank you so much! This made me shed a tear...I wish I'd had this to read when I was a child and was told that God didn't love me. This is so beautiful, expressive and everything the others above me have said. This WILL be in the book. Congrats once again! MagnoliaBlue ~My Skipper Jim I love you! Your Lady June~ |

Deeply spiritual and heart warming work. The resurgence of faith and peace explicated very well. |
