I thought if I listened to him,
I would also be heard.

I thought if i was there for him,
I would prove myself loyal.

I thought if I shared my heart,
He wouldn't punch through
Yet another gaping hole.

Shows you what I know.
Standing here with my Swiss cheese
Soul.

But a mere chapter,
But a man to a woman
Is an entire book.--

Such a sad poem... but wonderfully done.     Great job.

Kynder, this is great! Very powerful message and the "swiss cheese soul" really drives the message home at the end.

Such a sad image but very well written. I also particularly like the "swiss cheese soul" line. Thanks.

This was a great poem....I like very much the swiss cheese soul line....but over here we have a brand of cheddar...Tillamook Cheese Factory Cheddar, I think you'd be better off switching to cheddar...

Really enjoyed this. Your humor -- even at a lousy situation -- shines through.

Great poem.
