Daddy loved me when no one else could he wiped away my tears with just one look daddy could read me like an open book Daddy never changed, was always the same never got mad, his heart was always glad we'd sit on the porch and sing old hymns in the sweet by and by we shall meet on that beautiful shore... Once I saw daddy with a tear in his eye he knew I was hiding something inside he sat on the porch in his old rocking chair picking his guitar while mama just stared Daddy always knew when I was blue he'd sit at the foot of my bed wishing he could stop the tears I shed and I can still hear him say... you alright? Daddy's not here anymore he's gone home to be with the Lord sometimes I think I can hear him sing on a hill far away... I know I can hear him say... you alright? BloomingRose |

hey I know how it feels to lose a dad. My dad died early and left alot ofr people in sadness. He died when I was 16 12-23-99, of colon cancer, it was hard for me. I hear his voices still, I write poems about him. I bring them to his grave site, I have a brain disorder, it has to with CP. I went to Iowa to play different kind of sports like Track and Feild I know my dad was watching me. Bye ~*~Fairy Princess~*~ Keep hope in you, Keep, dreams in you, And you'll be fine - Unknown |

Marge, Thank you always...I have to clarify, this is not about my dad. A friend told me about her dad, so I wanted to write for her. I need to write one for my dad too... he died in 1983. Poet deVine Glad you like it Prometheus I hope you did not cry too much... CocoBaci I am really glad it touched you in a special way Fairy Princess I am sorry about the loss of your father. Although this poem is not about my father I do know how it feels to lose mine. 7/28/83 One day I will write about mine, just not yet. You will always carry your dad in your heart no one can take that away. |
