A tiny seed was buried
down deep within the earth,
forgotten by the sower
and longing for it's birth.

No sun shined down upon it
to give it warmth and light.
No drop of rain trickled down
to cool during it's plight.

The fight was not continued.
It made no sense to try.
All hope had been forgotten.
The seed began to die.

Then, by accident, he came.
A youth with crystal eyes
dug with curiosity
and kept her as his prize.

He gave her what she needed,
although he didn't know.
His care and understanding
then helped that seed to grow.

After time a bud appeared,
a tiny little thing.
She grew stronger everyday.
He gave her everything.

She showed her petals proudly
so all the world might know,
without the youth who found her,
the seed, she could not grow.

You have opened up my eyes,
given me a new start.
You will always hold a place
of honor in my heart.

Sometimes - when seeds are buried too deeply - It takes a little extra water and a little extra sunshine to help them become seedlings....

Nicely done, Paula...

Thank you Sunshine.  In fact, that youth is my inspiration.  He gave me the courage to get my pen out again after a long dry spell.  The funny thing is, I've never even seen him, but I love him just the same.  Maybe one day I'll let him know all thats in my heart.  Thanks again.< !signature-->

With thoughts such as these then I am sure that you will meet him soon.  I am happy that you have found someone to help you grow and you have expressed it so well in your creation.  Nicely done.

Buried deep within the heart of every seed is the chance to blossom...the heart of man is no different.  Well done, my friend.

just paying my respects for a beautifully written poem    So much imagery and the ryhme scheme just flows...I like this a lot

"my love is my motivation
my love is my inspiration
perception of this poem
is your interpretation"
