Our Petals Tender by Michael Auguste From bud to blossom, so like we And many colors that we are Like flowers, drinking morning dew In meadows near and valleys far Our petals tender, like our hearts Sometimes are bruised and never heal And with some flowers, petals fall Because they never knew how to feel But feel we must, we need the sun The light of day to help us grow We spread our petals to the light But for some it just isn't so They fail to open all the way For fear their petals can't endure What life may toss at them today I'd like to tell them hope is pure So open widely, drink the dew And bare your petals to the sun I speak of hope that you may see That your new life has just begun |

Auguste~ 'So open widely, drink the dew And bare your petals to the sun I speak of hope that you may see That your new life has just begun' What aspiring hope to greet a new blossom ! Lovely thoughts filled with fragrant imagery. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |

"From bud to blossom, so like we" Indeed, we are. Lovely analogy, Michael...this is such a pretty piece of poetry. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Marge, Yes, hope is what it's about. Hope is always pure and there for the taking. Claire, I'm happy you liked it. It's been awhile since I put flowers in a poem. Here's a wildflower I picked this morning just for you, my friend. catalinamoon, Thank you for taking the time to read my little poem. I'm glad you liked it. |

Poet deVine, Close that umbrella and allow to sun's warming, healing rays to shine. Paula, Thanks for the kind words. It's always good to see a reply from you. Jenn E, "I could feel this poem as I read." That, my friend, is a wonderful compliment, and I thank you. |
