My Point of View Weightless flight above the trees Above the hills of green Unveils a view more glorious Than anything you’ve seen You see the whole of where you are And where you’ve yet to go How streams and rivers join as one And where the waters flow Then high aloft the billows white With mountains tops in view The landscape alters eye’s delights From anything you knew The deepest canyons forged by streams The jagged mountain chains The quilted coverlet of fields The vast and barren plains From space the earth seems desolate A stranger in the sky The glories of this mystery sphere Gives pause to question why From lookout point so far removed How meager seems our plight Among the mammoth planets moving ‘Round a star of light But here I am on solid ground Among the hills of green The summer trees obstructing views Of all that could be seen These closed horizons meet my eyes With such a rapturous scene The petaled wings of butterfly Are visions most serene If I should choose to place my eye On earth or mountain top or sky The grandest view I think would be Within these walls of greenery Elizabeth Santos |

Elizabeth, This is wonderful, even for someone with a fear of flying, like me. Well done! Michael |

Liz, I know exactly what you mean. Living among the mountains often blocks your view of many things, but the thing is... it doesn't matter. You describe this perfectly. This is absolutely wonderful... We never do know what the scenery is on the other side of those peaks, do we... |
