For several days they traveled Each wrapped in a cloak Of thoughtful silence Sometimes they'd share words Or simply sit silently Watching the vistas unroll And, at times They'd catch an eye and smile But nothing more shall be For you are she And I am he Passing strangers on a train Alicat As I sit here dimly thinking Watching modem lights a-blinking Churning out poetic hash. Lord, in all Your piety, Help me keep my sanity: Please don't let the modem crash! --Alicat |

This poem makes me think of a conversation I just had with a friend. Your point is well taken here. It makes me wonder how many times true love has been passed, one will never know, as they will remain strangers. A wonderful thought you had here. Jenn E |

Alicat, This is my first time by your place, and I'm glad that I stopped. So vivid a portrayal, in a few lines. Well Done!!! |

'Cat, I could think, and have thought, many hours about the same thought that this poem describes. A train, a diner, a street corner...anywhere at all. I like your style, catman... |
