Remembrances from yesterdays Fragrant scents from a rose, Wafting through summer airs, Remind me of the yesterdays Spent gazing at a beauty rare. Melodic strains of violin tunes Playing through festive nights, Remind me of the yesterdays Spent gazing at a lovely sight. Recalling moments such as these Fill thoughts with endless rhymes, But how could I help it, if I long for Unwritten poetry of those times. Times when life made much more sense, In your love's presence all around; When we would dance, dance all night, With fragrance in whispered sounds. These memories consume my soul And remain in constant remind - That you, my love, are in my heart And forever reside in my mind. ~ [This message has been edited by Sudhir Iyer (edited 07-31-2000).] |

Sudhir~ One of your best, I believe. I am extremely partial to poetry of a nostalgic and tender nature. This one fits both bills of fare. Enjoyed it very much, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Sudhir-This is a wonderful piece and the fact that you have these memories so vivid in your mind shows that you never took for granted the love that you had. Very tender and very romantic in many ways. Great read my friend. |

O Sudhir, lovely, lovely... "Recalling moments such as these Fill thoughts with endless rhymes, But how could I help it, if I long for Unwritten poetry of those times." I don't think it can ever get any better than this...but when it does, it will have to have been written by Sudhir... Karilea When you want to be loved, look within...KRJ |

Loves lost so often find their way into our poetry, it seems. This is a delicately delivered recollection, Sudhir. Beautiful, to my way of thinking. ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Sudhir, you old softie, you! That romantic and reminiscent side of you shows through in this one. Yes, it is funny how a scent or a sound or a vision can trigger memories so real you can feel them happening again. For example, when I watch Star Trek now, I think of you ! ![]() Excellent thoughts, my friend.... |

Great writing my friend. i enjoy reading your work a lot. ![]() Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
