This is lovely! It really flows..and I think you're right, a Haiku is a 'snapshot' type poem....a beautiful picture in a few words.

Yes, it is as if a moment's reflection, suspended, placed delicately for us to enjoy...thank you, this is quite lovely!

Never be sorry for something you are so good at. I have read more before I was a member and I loved them. So much said, so few words......I thought I had read somewhere that you were the "Haiku King"......Stand proud kind sir!

Jamie....
          Looks like we all agree......
            Keep the Haiku going!!!
You're good at it, and there
is a real art to make such
          statements in such simple
                   forms.....

           So, personally, I will never
            tire of your beautiful
                  Haiku!!

Change of Seasons

Just one season known
then came you to warm my soul
and rekindle life

Springtime, Summer, Fall
Winter, in the life of time
Can't compare to you

sorry I love Haikus too...and  without permission from a friend who  accompanied me on this writing...I will share

Yellow butterfly
Spreads wings on purple lilac
Winds blow west, softly

Capturing the flow
Landing, hiding within the arms
Forsythia caught

Yellow on purple
Lightly touches the beauty
Yellow on yellow

Kiss of the sunlight
Exposing a slight flutter
A warm breeze awaits

Spring's sweet temptation
Glorious consummation
Called Butterfly love

Consumed by the glow
Butterfly dances the love
Tasting sweet nectar

Wells deep within Earth
And higher than Sky, where sounds
Ebb go shine Moon-side

Soft side of the moon
Reigns light upon the nightlife
Releasing in sighs

Jamie,
don't ever be sorry for haiku... to me it seems like one of the most skilful form of poetry. and your mastery over that form speaks volumes about your poetic skills....

keep 'haiku'ing and maybe one day I will be able to join you (inspired by your poems) in that form of poetry as well...

oops almost forgot... this is another beautiful haiku... keep them coming
