Through the despondent years as a teenager we grew, Blossomed into the new people whom we thought would conquer the world. Learning how to live in the New World, A world filled with more deadlines, more responsibilities, And most importantly more relationships. Our friends, They were the world. Everything we did was based on our affection to them An affection we thought would never die, Our significant others, Whom came and went with, not quite the wind. Those who impacted us to strengthen our souls, And lead our hearts on new journeys of the mind. Onto the heart wrenching world of adulthood, Where money is the key object, And happiness, or the search of, was left for the more adventurous. Friends were still considered, When the time was found to enjoy the life God has given. Leaving little room to enjoy what we had earned. Lovers, Those were a half-thought in the few minutes before exhaustion took over. The puppy love of the yester-years was no longer needed. Now here we stand, In a world that has been tossed and shaken, Built up, and demolished. Finding who we were, was hard, But finding what we were about, Was the hardest of all, Never knowing if the journey would end. We wait and wonder, What is our next step? Is it to be the step to eternity? |

You've described it well! I'm sure we've all taken this same journey, asking the same questions. Very well written! Denise |
