Illusion A shimmering sea calms her mind While in a land of heat She rejoices at the sight of placid waters, Now running towards the fleet As she draws near to the sea, she finds not what should be, Crying out in vain, she realizes what has happened… It's just an Illusion A young man strolls down a deserted street Waiting for his love; to meet The happiness that they would share Would always meet them there. In the shadows, she does stand, Taking her life into her own hand. As she scribbles an apology, she realizes what really matters… Life is just an Illusion. Violence erupts in a quiet park, Taking one precious life in the dark. His life is taken forever away, Without one last chance to pray. As he lies on the blood soaked ground He sees his fate is found. Now he realizes what peace is… An Illusion The next two fit together very nice, For their love is now the final price. As they take a chance with the rolling dice They see their fate melt away like ice. They see before their very eyes As the love they had quickly dies. Now the two realize all too late… Love is just an illusion An old caption stands on the deck of his ship As the waves below begin to flip. He sees the land, so far away, He must keep his joys silently at bay. He steers the ship towards the sight, Now away from the ship's main flight. Seeing nothing where the land should be, he realizes the truth too late... It was just an Illusion. Time on this world flies so fast, Nothing ever seems to last. You see me now, but not within You judge me quick, but you see me not. If the time is only taken to see the truth, You'll see who I truly am. But until that time is here, my time on earth is drawing near. For now, all I am, is an Illusion. "The universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper." a very dark poem, I don't think love or life are illusions and if they are I want to remain blind to the lie. I really enjoyed the poem, well written, I hope this is not how you feel. "I am melancholy, flower cutting through stone" manic street preachers |

Cassers, this is incredible work. I am awestruck...such dark, vivid thoughts...but sadly, I do believe that this is probably how you do feel. The light is there if you search the shadows hard enough hon. Love, life, everything is worth searching through the countless illusions. Because somewhere and someday they will be real. *Krista Knutson* "You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back." -Barbara DeAngelis |

Dark poem Cassie, very dark... I'm also guessing this is how you're feeling at the moment. Life can seem awfully illusory, but it isn't all an illusion, some dreams just can't come true and fade to mist in your site, but there is a shape and a form in the fog, you just need to be strong enough to find it, and you can, Cassie. Thanx guys.. I appreciate the responces! I was in a dark mood when I wrote that, and the only reason I posted it was because I liked the form. I'm getting better, believe me! thanks again.
