A Gown Of Invisible Colors Your words are smooth as silken threads That weave for me a gown Invisible though it appears to all I feel colors of you all around. Passionate purple, rests close to my heart And the pinkness of lips that thought kiss The pale of the white that awaits your light touch And the gray of your eyes that I miss. Whenever you leave me I think of your gown And the comfort my heart feels within Knowing tomorrow, your eyes shall return And will be dancing upon my soft skin. Maureen |

This is a poem that seems to have all the right words ... what a gal you must be to pen such lovely thoughts ... and I see you were able to get your pic uploaded ... excuse me ... while I lift my jaw off the floor You're going to have them lining up now Maureen! |

Princess...sometimes I respond to others responses to my poems...and they inspire me to write another ... one day someone said to me he would dress me in a gown of invisible threads and from there a poem was born in me.. thank you for your comments, princess, I always look forward to them ~~soft smiles Maureen [This message has been edited by MMoonchild (edited 08-04-2000).] |

I've read this three times now but I'm no nearer a reply except to say, I love it.. HUGS "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them." |

This is a beautifully done metaphor., it flows throughout the piece and leaves serenity at the ending. It is well crafted and tight. You should be very proud of this one Maureen. p.s. you cannot be 50!! I just turned 50 this year. Kathleen |

RainbowGirl thank you ...and I love rainbows.... ~~smiling Maureen Disappearing Rainbows It rained today and all last night This morning tried to find The crescent shaped with colors bright That came with morning shine. I caught a small and quickened view Of stripes up in the sky But when I turned around, just once It left, before my eyes. The rainbow disappeared in fade And with it, so it seems Went many of my daily plans And many of my dreams. I'll try each time when sky tears fall And sun comes out once more To catch a glimpse of rainbow's hues As I have done before. And hope that I can capture them And store then in mind's eye Those elusive plans and dreams I make To become that butterfly. 6.16.99 |
