ILLUSIONS
You were only an illusion
woven out of my confusion
something desperately needed
at the time.

For I was grabbing
at bits and pieces,
broken almost beyond repair.
Shatter by someone else
who didn't really care.

Cautiously testing each broken
piece to see where, or if it still fit,
only to find that some of the pieces
weren't part of my picture at all.

So by the wayside I let them fall away
and continue searching for the part
to refill my heart again someday.....

Nice poem, nona! I know how it is to 'grab at bits and pieces' of someone that we want so desperately to be part of our lives. Good writing!

This is a great poem nona.It really touches on a emotion i can relate to.Your words are arranged in a delicate meter and it"s exspressive in its simplicity.

Excellent, nona. I suppose all of us at some time in our life have found ourselves in simialar situations. You did a great job assimilating those feelings and penning them down for us.

Thanks so much snowpants,mothersbow and gunslinger for your kind words. This was inspired by Balladeers Out of Giving. Just checking to see if I could write about something I had not actually experienced but thought I understood........nona
