NOTHING BUT NOTHING
by
Garfield Green

It doesn't matter much now
As I watch butterflies fly by
It doesn't matter much now
As my skies turn grey as if they wished to cry

It doesn't matter much now
As the fall of season paints the ground brown
It doesn't matter much now
That the once smiling clown now frowns

It doesn't matter much now
That a lovely love song now plays
It doesn't matter much now
What life dictates and people say

It doesn't matter much now
Watching and observing all these things
It doesn't matter much now
Listening to a beautiful songbird sing

It doesn't matter much now
As I sit with by elbows on my thighs
It doesn't matter much now
As large flooding tears build in my eyes

Nothing matters much now
As I sit here cold and blue
Nothing matters much now
withou you.

Hi.
That is a sad, but good description.

Garfield, you have so affectively expressed the melancholia of loss with this piece.

Melton & Claire

I wrote this poem after the loss of my first girlfriend.  I was looking for a way to express this loss and this is what I came up with.  This was one of the first peoms that I ever wrote.

Thanks P. Shadows.  Nice knowing that someone here shared the same experience.
