Bright stars are coquettishly winking and blinking
to The Man in the Moon, I'll call him Nod.
Now Nod, you see, is an introvert type;
He stands by the wall of the Milky Way's dream,
which is just his way, not the least bit odd,
fervently wishing upon that first star
he's not found out by the rocket's red glare
and subsequent bombs bursting in air.

Young Nod's got the twinkle for that cute little
Star near the bar, the one with golden tresses
gallantly streaming o'er her ramparts. He's not
much time in this world so high to make his move,
for she needs to meet curfew before dawn's early
light.

He scopes her out, entranced, in the most brilliant
of dresses, its broad stripes and bright stars wave
as we watch. Taps her on the shoulder, says, "Hey,
little missy, you're like a diamond in the sky" and
goes on to say, "Oh! Say, can you see I'd like to buy
you a drink?" Star; not being the falling star kind of
star, replies, "How I wonder what you think you
are, Nod! Hightail it off to the next solar system
or face a perilous fight!"

Poor, poor Nod (you gotta pity him). Being the Man
he is, falls back to the wall, safe o'er the land
of the free and the home of the brave (more braver
than he). Nodding off to the twilight's last gleaming;
holds Star in his dreams, giving proof through the
night that his flag-bannered Twinkle will still be
there when the bright stars are coquettishly winking
and blinking once again....for Nod.

Chanson~
This is absolutely adorably creative !
What a great job you did with it.
I'll be darned !
It's just precious.
I like it - I do !

It's a mix between the US Nat'l Anthem and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. I even threw in some John Wayne. hehehe

It was a riot to write. Pleased you enjoyed the read, Marge and Wil.
