I'm sorry I mistook you for a friend...
You look like someone who once said,
they'd be there 'til the end...
There were simple dreams we shared...
It felt so good that someone cared...
I let myself get closer than I should...
My only crime was that I misunderstood...

I'm sorry to be telling you this tale...
I'm sure you've heard it all before,
and it's getting rather stale...
This eager heart just opened wide,
It didn't see lies sneak inside...
And now the shape it's in is not too good...
And all because it just misunderstood...

I thank you for just reaching out your hand...
It means a lot to know there's other folks who understand...
A poet doesn't always say
the way she feels,
But I am today....
So, please accept my poem, if you would...
Then I won't have to be misunderstood...

Did you hear me say that I expected your all
Would you have even tried to give me the truth
If all I said was I just wanted to have a ball
With a friend who was not so damn uncooth

I never asked for the moon to be painted blue
I never said that your smile wouldn't matter
All I ever wanted was for you to be you
Now all I hear from you is heartless chatter.

Wonderful write my friend....so why is it that caring and friendship seems so hard at times?

Sunny you have become a good friend to me and it hurts me to see you in any kind of pain. This is written beautifully and very well expressed.
Tender hugs my friend,

Sunny, I'm glad you are able to write out the feelings, it's always helped me to do that. Take care, and always keep the faith, there is something good out there, it just evades us frequently .
Love ya

Sunny1 - I could feel the emotions in this one, it's such a shame that sometimes friendship seems so much like work....If only we could all realize that life is short and we need to appreciate the friends that are in our lives, and spend our time making good memories instead of hurt feelings. Hope all goes well for you.  Bonnie

You are so wise and I listen to your advice more than you know.  Yes, writing is a gift given to us for many reasons, but it is a perfect healer.

You are so right....I, too, am a firm believer that life is too short to waste on hurting.  That's why I spend most of my time here.....it feels good to be surrounded by such great people, and such friendship!!!  Thank you!!

It really hurts when you have been misled.  You have penned it beautifully.

I've felt like this a couple of times myself.  It's far worse though when you follow the signs of flirtation described by LgJhnAg.LOL
But seriously, this was an excellent poem which I believe came straight from your heart.  Whenever a person is deceived by someone that's really close to them, it does hurt.

Hi ggrn3....
Yes, it hurts, but fortunately there are times when the hurts can be fixed and the friendship becomes stronger than ever, even enough to withstand outside forces!!    Thank you!!!!

Hi Coco...
I think we all get to feeling this way at times, but it usually works itself out. Just another one of those shared human traits, I guess!!  Glad you liked it!!

Hi snowpants...
If this has been the way of your life lately, I just want to tell you that it will get better, as It certainly has in my own life. Just gotta hang in there, and Passions is a good place to hang!!! Good to see you here!!

Yes, as my life would have it, changes fling me back and forth daily. But then, I never get bored! Do you know the song..."I can see clearly now..the rain is gone"?  Well....that says it all for me!
Thank you for your lovely thoughts,

Strong words.
There are many out there who seem to be a friend.  All too often we let them in, then it seems, that they built us up just to tear us down.
Most of us have been there before.  It's a good thing to open up and let it out.
Thank you much for sharing.  Remember you will always have friends here.

Thanks, Sunny, for your warm words!!  Passions is definitely a great place to 'hang.'  I have never 'met' a nicer bunch of people!  And poets, which makes it 100 times better!!
