State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-09-14 05:34 PM

This was written for my two sons Jeffrey Michael Carter and Brandon Casey Carter. I love you both with all that I am. xoxoxoxo

**********************************

UNTIL NEXT SATURDAY

I walk away envisioning
Moments from the past
All those little memories
That were made to last

I remember when I first held you
You were so tiny then
I counted your fingers and toes
And, yes, thank God there were ten

You've grown up so fast
And I have missed so much
Please know that Daddy loves you
A whole , big 'ole bunch

You're never far from my thoughts
No matter near or far
I will always love you
No matter where you are

I remember the first time
You said "Daddy I love you"
And it was all that I could do
To say "Daddy loves you too"

Tears fill my eyes again
As I walk away
Leaving you there with your mom
Until next Saturday

I see your tiny hand
As you wave good-bye
And it hurts me deeply
This I can't deny

I know you don't understand
Why things have to be this way
But please know that Daddy loves you
A little more everyday

Me and my three sons went thru this too
but perhaps not as well as you...
Savor every moment...
and I know you will....James

*sigh*
yeah we're doing this in reverse and it is as sad for me (watching his sons hurt) as it is for him to leave them all the time.
Great rendition of your feelings.

Oh Jeff, my friend, I know what this means to you and what Michael and Brandon are to you. Again I say you are a wonderful father whose love for his boys shines through with every word...its gonna be ok.

Jeffery,
There is no solace my friend. Only in the fact that we suffer together, and that one day they will see the folly of their ways.

Being a newly divorced mom, I loved seeing this from the dad's perspective. It isn't easy for either parent, one has to care for the kids most of the time, the other has all the loneliness inbetween seeing the kids again.

Life is very hard.

Thank you all so very much for listening to me ramble. Life isn't always easy, but my love for them grows stronger every day.

Jeffrey, hi...I suspect it may have been quite difficult to write this wonderful poem, but that you have done it so sincerely moves me. There will be a time when you can share this with your sons. In the meantime, I know you will keep sharing the best of you ~ your heart.

Thank you, Jeffrey.

Jeff

I can hardly write this with the tears coming down my face.  Beautifully done and every word shows how much you love them.  Just keep telling them that when you talk and see them.

Jeffery wonderful poem and I wish you all the best, I know it must be a hard situation at times but by this poem seems like your children have nothing to worry about with a very caring father like you.

Jeffrey,

Hi to you my friend!!  Welcome back!!

Now, this was a great one from you.  I can feel your emotions coming through loud and clear.  I know it is not easy, but I am glad you are hanging in there.  I know they mean the world to you.  Take care my friend.
