Hey, God !  This One's For You
~*Marge Tindal*~

Man, by the time I got up this morning
you'd been a busy painter I see
Freshly splashed from your palette
hues of deep-rose pink clung to the morning sky
of that perfect backdrop canvas of blue
radiating the crimson-gold rising of sun

It's like you were the music director as well
Early morning sounds began their harmonizing
The dove hummed a soft coo to a mate
The wind sang wake up tunes to the trees
Alive ! Alive ! Buzzed the honeyed sing of the hive
Mockingbirds joined the chorus from windowsills

From their bed the sleepy daffodil
began the morning ritual of dewdrop drying
Why, down the street even dogs began to sing
Grinning pansies prissily pirouetted in the breeze
awaking the fern from feathered rest

You changed the skyline every minute of every hour
You sneaked in the gray power of a rainstorm
that sent robins ruffling their feathered raincoats
Cymbal's crashing accentuated the lightning display
A hush fell as the sun took a curtsey
lending us a peek at her hoop-skirted crinolines
in every color of the rainbow

Ever-so-slowly sienna sun crept toward the night edge
dipping her toes in the cool moisture of twilight
The spotlight dimmed and faded to indigo
Then you had the audacity to bring on the stars
dancing cross the Milky Way like they owned the place
Finally, you lit up the night with Luna
so lovely she melted hearts and gathered sighs

You signed your name
The least I can do
is to give thanks
God, this one's for you !

What can I say Marge?  This is so beautifully written.  To say that I loved it is not enough.  I want to put that one on my fridge... it's  beautiful.

"Dipping her toes in the cool moisture of twilight"...

You are a poetess and a half... I greatly admire your talent and your perspective on life.

Take care,

Well, Marge... there you go again.
What can be said?  That was an absolutely beautiful poem.  You painted a full canvas yourself, m'lady.
(albeit a slightly smaller one!)
Thank you for a wonderful way to finish an evening!

This is one of the most magnificent poems I have read in recent times...

I am head facing down, bowing
I am standing in quiet, silenced
I am deeply in awe, beauty-struck,
I am your follower, poetry-bit.

Marge, Thanks so much for being you...

regards,
sudhir

Bustem~
It was such a glorious day.
He sure painted a masterpiece and set it to music
from dawn through night.
That lovely moon still frolics in the sky.
Thank you for the reply.

Tracie~
Thank you, my sweet, sweet friend.
Isn't it miraculous to know that He never gets tired
of showing us His talent ?
I feel so blessed.

Linda~
He painted it and gave me the words to sing it.
Thank you for the sweet reply.
I'd be happy to hang on your fridge !

Trew~
I so appreciate your reply.
I'm in awe at the glorious view He gives
us each and every day.
Thank you.

Sudhir~
It just wrote itself ... as I arrived on
Him in His studio of a new day.
I thank you for your appreciation.
Ya' sure got a way with words.

*Loving thoughts of you all.

I love those Florida skies... especially that "gray power" when one of those wonderful ten-minute rain storms is imminent... Great poem, my friend..

Marge~ this was incredible, I miss the country so much at times! (I mean I know I live in the downtown area of a tiny town of about 1500 people, but it's still town to this country girl!).
This was lovely and gave credit where credit is due.
