        “IF I – WOULD YOU”

If I flew home to see you in a plane,
Would you meet me, up in lover’s lane?

If I came home to see you by train,
Would you love me, once again?

If I came home to see you by car,
Would you meet me, in a romantic bar?

If I came home to see you with my big green truck,
Would you run away with me, and bring me luck?

If I asked you to meet me somewhere in Rome,
Would you ever, want to go back home?

If I ran towards you from down the street,
Would you skip your heart, just one little beat?

If I came over to your house and walked,
Would it be OK, if we just talked?

If I made a mistake and I said damn,
Would you still accept me, for what I am?

If I took you out somewhere to eat,
Would you think that later, I might have a treat?

If I kissed you and made your heart mend,
Would you then be more, than my very best friend?

If I came near and caught you if you slipped,
Would you gently kiss me, on my soft lips?

If I looked into your pretty eyes,
Would you hold me tight, and not say goodbye?

And if I came home after all these years,
Would you still love me, would your eyes fill with tears?

Now, how did this sit here for two hours with no response?!?  I liked the first part to this one and I love the second part!!  This is great, Bill!

That was so beautiful!  Jeeze!  If you wrote that for someone in particular and she doesn't give you a big squeeze after reading that I'm sure that some of us will be swooning soon with that kind of romance!
Very heartfelt writing - full of emotion.

Bill, now you did say a big GREEN truck, didn't you ???

This is precious, I must agree with the rest!

Hi Bill...
I keep running into that 'big,
green truck'!!!  Is there room in the
back for a checkered table cloth and a
    picnic basket?
I loved this one, too, but that
goes for everything that you write!!!

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

Hi Meadowmuse,
Oh yes Claire, a big "GREEN" truck I did say. And I'm glad that you liked this writing.

Oh Beth,
You are so more than kind with your comments. I humble myself before you, as mentioning being a fan, and I do appreciate it very much. Ahhh, romance is in the heart, and for more will ever be.

Hi Rosebud1229,
You are very sweet with your remarks, and "yes" to all that you have asked. And thank you for your generous comments. No forgiveness is necessary, and be as silly as you would like, I enjoy it.

Hi Sunny,
What do I say, what do I say, to someone with a heart like yours? I know, I will answer your questions!

Yes, there is room, and yes for a checkered table cloth, and yes for a picnic basket. And yes, under that big tree, in that setting in the park.

And thank you once again for your graciousness.

Bill-Very sweet and lovely poem.  Would that be a Dodge, Ford, or Chevy?, if it's a Ford you have captured my attention, like car races too?

Gemini,
Thank you for your kind comments. No, I'm afraid that it be a Chebby. But car races, why not? Have a good one!
