THE SHOWCASE Don’t compare the things on show With what’s concealed inside The outward looks are often glossed And polished with some pride Like cabinets full of crystal wares The best is shown to all Whilst in the back the hidden faults With chips turned to the wall You see your chips and little cracks Compare the two and then A gulf is made you cannot cross Despair sets in again So live your life without compare Hunger not for what you lack Be content with what you have All people have their cracks |

Linda~ Don't know how this little gem slipped by me - must have caught me before that first cup of coffee ! I enjoyed it so much. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
