I know I should be worried
About Toerag's threats in here.
But when I read his latest poem,
I first cried and then I cheered.

For as I read his lyrics,
I checked off one by one,
All the words that Toerag used,
And I know that he is done.

He's used up his store of words,
And he'll be quiet once again.
Ninety-seven is all he's got,
Of words that he can pen.

So, now I can rest easier,
Because Toerag is all spent.
He went after Balladeer,
Just like a malcontent.

So, Toerag rattle your saber,
Go on and puff and blow.
You'll not find me quaking,
From the words you do not know.

Oh....
One other thing...

How the heck are you,
You rascally scalawag?
You've been gone way too long,
And it's great to see you back.

You guys crack me up.
Well done Long John, I do believe Toerag's learnt a few new words in his absence, if not he can borrow some of mine. You're not safe yet LJA.

Kit - Thank you for not acting like the weepy-eyed belles of the Forum, who sniffle when that scalawag Toerag makes his cameo appearances.  It's good to see SOMEBODY in here recognizes a rascal when they see one.

Karilea - Yup - It's a guy thing alright.  All we are capable of doing around all the beautiful women of this forum is to fight amongst ourselves like male lions fighting over breeding rights of the pride.  If you know anything about what happens in a pride after a new male takes over, you'll know by my reputation as a kitty-kicker that I am the only logical choice for ultimate winner.  So... get all the females in line for the inevitable - lol.

Kethry - Yanno, regarding Toerag learning a few more words since he left,  I think you're right.  Why just the other day when the bill collectors were hot on his heels, he was heard to say, "I wish I looked like Long John."  lol

You guys lift it to a higher level with each reply.  I am enjoying this good humor banter and I do believe that Kethry is looking to feed the fire.  Now about those kitties on that raft.  Beware the story is near and tis you may be in the water I fear.

Mark - Kitties on a raft?  On the Colorado River?  *hopeful eyes*  Have you noticed that a cat's got Toerag's tongue?  See?  Even I recognize the worth of a cat - lol.

Funny poem!....but as is usually the case I read all the responses too and fell on the floor laughing at your 'kitty kicker' remark.

You keep posting your good sense of humor, I'll keep reading it

Pandora - Yanno, when you aren't threatening to scratch my eyes out, I get kinda worried that I might be getting led into a Kitty-Kicker trap.  naturally, you would be the purrrfect bait.  As for Toe and me, we go back a long long way, and I've yet to find a more likeable rascal for fencing and jousting.

Chansie - You ought to have been here about a year ago when 'Deer, Toe and I were trading poetic blows at a very frequent interval.  Naturally, I was the victim *veg*.  I'm glad you enjoy.

In reviewing the post in here, I wonder if any of you gals have noticed that there truly is a difference in styles between men and women.  We men, it appears, tend to write about events, while you women tend to write about how events make you feel.  And... when men write about feelings, generally, those poems connect at a much deeper level.  hmmmm...

I think he knows more than 97, but he can't use those other 3000 words HERE! The 'expletive filter' gets them!

That expletive filter being Nan's eraser! LOL Without it, Toe would be putting ole Webster out of business! *G*

Lure him on in here, sailor... I'll even give him a chance to play before I pounce... though I'll confess I'm missing the man mightily! LOL
