Between a laugh and a tear...

(a repost from #6)

Mirror

I look into the mirror
and see the eyes of my father
The hard lines, the blackness
the joys, and the sorrows that were his
as I gaze I come to understand
I feel his love, his purpose
his life and his pain
and I know he walks with me

Eagle One, I admire the simplicity and conversational qualities of this wonderful piece. Really nice, without being overly dramatic or saccharine. Lovely work.

so few words..speak volumes..of both
you and him...

Very moving write and your love for him shows.  I am sure he knew of your love for him and you honor him as well as yourself in this piece.

My dear friend...just as the love of your father lives in you so shall the love of you live in your children~ This is a beautiful poem that shows the heart of a man that knows what being a FATHER is all about~

EagleOne, very simple but the love shows through. I think any father would love it.

Janet......You know how I feel about being able to bring a smile to someone, I'm glad i could do that for you. Your reply speaks volumes also, I thank you my friend.

Butterfly......You, more than any other, know my heart. I thankyou for your understanding. I think the only thing harder than being a father is being a Mother. Take care!

Mark, Dee, paula...apologies for not responding individually, I am a little emotional and lost for words just now. Know that your replies have touched me and that I do appreciate your time and your comments. Thankyou!

Eagle One,
I'm bumping this glorious piece to the front. I think it got lost in the good humor hilarity, but it needs a second read.

Be well
