Cast Iron Canvas

paint me on
a cast iron canvas
shadows shown
behind my eyes
graphite glimpses
ever growing
pastel prison
telling lies

see into this
posing person
tangled knots
within the twine
covered soft in
silk's seduction
lover lost to
life's unwind

Interesting concept ... to whose satisfaction do we paint the picture
Perhaps if we look a little deeper ...

excellent poem

Brian, and as always, your words are just so kind. Thank you.

Rex, exactly. So often the "painting" can be misleading, until the "artist" sees with knowing eyes what lies below the surface. Thank you for reading this and "getting" it.

Miss Marge, I am not surprised in the least that you noticed and understood the contrast. Thank you, my friend.

Sunny, I am glad to know that you found something in this piece to enjoy. Thank you so much for letting me know.

Michael, as always, you know I appreciate your support. Thank you, my friend.

Sven, thank you. I'm glad you liked this...

Dee, thank you very much, and have I welcomed you to Passions? We're glad to have you!

Mark, your rose coloured glasses would make a world of difference, I'm sure...thanks for the offer!

Eloise, for taking time to read and then letting me know what you thought, I thank you very much, and am glad that you found it enjoyable.

the meaning of this poem eludes me (in words) but in my heart I can FEEL it. I know this cast iron canvas well...I seem to be painted on it...
*sigh*
lovely as usual Claire

Heather, if the poet is able to move the reader in some way, then the poetic goal has been met. Thank you for affording me this satisfaction, my friend.

Krista, your note is very kind. I read your "list" in the Alley, and am very humbled by what you wrote...thank you so much for being so supportive, dear. You are indeed a treasured one.
